Director of Operations

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Director of Operations for a rapidly scaling provider of essential services to commercial and industrial clients. This impactful, full-time opportunity is onsite and based in the Newark, NJ area.

Position Overview

The Director of Operations will lead a dynamic, round-the-clock field operations function and play a vital role in shaping operational structure and performance. Reporting to executive leadership, this role is responsible for building systems, processes, and team culture that enable efficiency, safety, and scalability. Responsibilities

• Lead field operations, including drivers, dispatch, logistics, and mechanics, while building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
• Oversee dispatch and maintenance functions to ensure timely, safe, and error-free service delivery
• Build and implement operational systems, tools, and SOPs to support service excellence
• Support frontline leaders and team members through coaching, team meetings, and professional development
• Serve as a key internal and external point of contact for customer onboarding and issue resolution
• Continuously assess and improve workflows, technology use, and operational effectiveness

Qualifications

• Experience managing operations in logistics, field services, or other industrial sectors
• Strong leadership skills with a history of building high-performing, frontline teams
• Proficient in operational tools and technologies (dispatch, GPS, maintenance systems)
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse teams
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills

This full-time position offers a competitive annual salary $150-175K, commensurate with experience, along with performance-based incentives.
