Senior Accountant
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This is your chance to work with and help lead a company that is defining the future of direct-to-consumer, paid livestreaming solutions (both live and on-demand). This is an incredible team of people who strive to delight our partners with innovations that transform their business and their fans’ experience.
The base salary range applicable to this role is $72,000 - $90,000 and may adjust based on geolocation and experience. This role is open for US candidates to work remotely or can sit in our US Headquarters at our offices in New Providence, New Jersey. Please note, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
Description:
This role will be integral to our day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our accounting processes. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of accounting principles and a passion for maintaining financial integrity. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is ready to contribute to the financial health of a growing company.
We’re looking for someone with a background in corporate or public accounting, but small business accounting or historically working with smaller teams would be beneficial for this role too. We operate in NetSuite, so experience with the platform is a major plus. We also think this role would be a great fit for a proactive self-starter with a knack for problem solving, as there are challenging intricacies within our business model.
This role will sit on the Accounting and Finance team under the CFO, report to the VP of Finance in the department, and have one peer in an Accounts Payable role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring all reports are accurate and timely.
- Revenue Tracking: Manage the end-to-end revenue recognition process, from invoicing to reconciliation, ensuring all revenue streams are accurately tracked and reported.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are promptly resolved.
- Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring proper coding and documentation for all financial transactions.
- Audit Support: Assist the Controller in preparing for and managing external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to gather information, resolve issues, and ensure financial data is consistent across the organization.
Desired Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in an accounting role, with a strong understanding of GAAP
- Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite preferred, QuickBooks still good) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Experience with revenue recognition, bank reconciliation, and general ledger maintenance
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly.
- A proactive self-starter who works both independently and as part of a team.
Benefits & Perks:
- Outstanding medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance benefits
- Healthcare flexible spending account (FSA) and Dependent Care FSA
- 401(k) plan with company match
- Equity - stock options
- ASPCA pet insurance
- NewBenefits Lifestyle Package - identity theft, legal services, and pet care discounts
- Student loan assistance
- Wellness app reimbursement
- Flexible work location and hours

- Opportunity to work with a world-class team of business leaders and entrepreneurs
