Job Title: Radiology Tech 

Location: North Bergen, NJ 07047

Schedule: Monday – Friday, No Weekends (8-hour shifts, schedule may vary depending on volume: 7:30a–4:00p, 8:00a–4:30p, or 8:30a–5:00p)

Hours Per Week: 40

Contract Length: 13 Weeks

The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level that does not require constant supervision. The technologist performs imaging procedures, patient care, and administrative tasks in accordance with departmental standards and regulatory guidelines.

• Produce high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients, selecting proper technical factors, and operating equipment.

• Utilize cone and collimating devices to restrict radiation exposure to unaffected areas.

• Perform portable x-ray exams in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency departments.

• Follow procedures to correctly identify and label patient films with name, x-ray number, and side markers.

• Process exposed x-ray films using available processing methods.

• Complete patient requisitions with technologist initials, date, and film details.

• Maintain an orderly and clean x-ray room as directed.

• Prepare and assist physicians in administering radiopaque contrast media.

• Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, patient instruction, film filing, record maintenance, and reception duties.

• Provide patient care assistance, including moving, positioning, and transferring patients as needed.

• Lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push/pull at least 10 lbs., and stand for up to 6 hours per day.

• Adapt care delivery to meet the specific needs of patients (age, culture, language, sensory impairments, etc.) and communicate effectively with patients and caregivers.

• Follow all organizational policies, safety procedures, and competency standards.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Completion of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.

• Completion of clinical and A.R.R.T. requirements.

• Must possess a valid New Jersey State Radiology License.

• Must be eligible for the National Registry and pass the A.R.R.T. exam.
