- Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.
Learn About a Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant:
ResponsibilitiesThe Medical Assistant provides superior patient care and perform s administrative and delegated clinical tasks that support patient s in a clinic-based environment as part of a care team led by the physician and /or advanced practice provider .
QualificationsJob Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge .
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Associate’s degree .
- Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program.
- Prior experience in a clinic or hospital setting supporting patient care.
- Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) .
Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
