Color Lab Technician

Job Title: Color Lab Technician
Location: Clark / Linden, NJ
Type: Contract to Hire
Compensation: $20.00-$23 /hour (depending upon experience)
Work Model: Onsite
Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Overview
This position supports a global cosmetic manufacturer specializing in large?scale production of nail polish and related beauty products. The organization emphasizes color innovation, strict regulatory compliance, and collaboration with leading beauty brands worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Apply, evaluate, and refine laboratory and chemical processes while maintaining accurate and detailed documentation
• Collaborate closely with cross?functional teams including R&D, Quality Control, and Production
• Operate analytical instruments to perform viscosity testing, water testing, and other routine lab analyses
• Conduct drawdowns, visual color evaluations, and spectrophotometer measurements
• Compare samples against color standards to ensure batch?to?batch consistency and quality
• Learn and follow established laboratory procedures, including additional testing methods as required
• Maintain a clean, organized lab environment in compliance with safety and GMP guidelines

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline (flexible on degree field)
• 1–3 years of Quality Control or laboratory experience preferred (+ Recent grad with chemistry lab experience)
• Experience working with color, pigments, coatings, or cosmetic formulations strongly desired
• Strong attention to detail with demonstrated color acuity
• Willingness to learn and adapt; suitable for recent graduates with lab exposure
