JOB SUMMARY:

The primary role of the QA Technician is to be responsible for completing laboratory testing and gauge verification. This position is cross trained to fill in for Quality Auditors and other tasks as assigned by Quality Management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Completes routine laboratory analysis of products in accordance with USP/EP/JP
• Completes first piece inspection of the production run
• Completes line clearance in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure
• Performs gage verification when needed
• Issues gages and foils to jobs
• Performs verifications of automatic measuring equipment and vision systems
• Provides training as required
• Cross trained to fill in for QA Auditor
• Performs and documents calibration/verification of manual measuring equipment
• Maintains and updates all gage master records
• Maintains records of all instruments calibrated by outside contractors
• Orders gages as needed
• Performs incoming inspection on various raw materials (glass tubing, screens, etc)
• Maintains Supplier Discrepancy Reports
• Reviews and maintain supplier certifications
• Monitors and maintain day to day functions of the SPC program

• Completes routine dimensional and visual audits of the manufacturing process
• Observes all safety rules and regulations and performs job in a safe manner.
• Maintains acceptable standards of housekeeping
• Wears proper personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
• Demonstrates behavior that meets Gerresheimer Management System (GMS) Standards
• Prints legibly on all paperwork
• Performs other duties when required or requested

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Glass manufacturing experience
• Related experience including process auditing and/or training or
• Equivalent combination of education and experience

• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to use calipers and gauges
• Basic math skills
• Ability to read and write English
• Experience dealing with customers inside and outside of facility
