Job Overview:
The RN Stroke Program Coordinator is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of quality healthcare services to stroke patients in compliance with state requirements and standards.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN
- Must demonstrate the following skills: project management, leadership, time-management, strategic and creative thinking
- Must have excellent verbal, written and communication skills and competent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrates analytical and critical thinking skills with proactive decision and negotiation skills
- Ability to work effectively as a team member while assuming a leadership role
- Ability to collect, analyze and present data to appropriate committees
- Completion of all orientation requirements by RWJ Rahway
Preferred:
- MSN
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant clinical experience with stroke care, additional neurological nursing and/or critical care experience preferred
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- Active NJ RN License
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Specialty certification CCRN, CNRN, SCRN preferred
Scheduling Requirements:
- Day Shift
- Full -Time
- 40 hours weekly
- Mon. - Fri.
- 8am - 4:30pm
- No weekends or holidays
Essential Functions:
The RN Stroke Program Coordinator:- Participates in data collection, analysis and reporting of established clinical practice guidelines
- Works with the interdisciplinary team in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Stroke standards of care
- Assist in professional stroke education programs in conjunction with the education department
- Provides support and resources to the stroke unit staff and patient population,
