Technical Commercialization Strategist

The company is seeking a Technical Commercialization Strategist to spearhead the market transition of a groundbreaking R&D prototype. This system, developed with government funding, is an AI-driven networking platform designed to automate network configuration, monitoring, and security based on high-level business intent. While the system was initially developed for defense applications, it has significant potential for commercial and broader government use.
The ideal candidate will function as an embedded entrepreneur, bridging the gap between advanced R&D and commercial viability. This role requires a strong technical understanding of the prototype's unique capabilities and differentiation points, coupled with a strategic view of the competitive landscape.

Responsibilities
" Collaborate closely with the technical development team to deeply understand the prototype system and its core differentiators.
" Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to identify viable market segments and promising customer bases within both government and commercial sectors.
" Develop and execute a robust Go-to-Market strategy tailored for a research prototype.
" Engage with potential customers to cultivate qualified leads and drive early adoption.
" Develop a strategic pathway for productizing the R&D prototype capabilities.

Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This range reflects the typical compensation for this role based on experience and other relevant factors.

Qualifications:

Qualifications and Experience
" Experience: A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (6 years with a Master's, or 3 years with a PhD).
" Commercialization Expertise: Demonstrated success in developing and executing Go-to-Market strategies for emerging technology products.
" Strategic Understanding: Strong grasp of computer networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, with the ability to quickly articulate complex technical concepts.
" Government Relations: Experience working with and maintaining established relationships across U.S. military branches (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps), including knowledge of DoD acquisition processes, programming, and budgeting.
" Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver presentations to executive-level audiences.
" Work Ethic: Strategic thinker, highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of prioritizing effectively in a dynamic environment.
" Clearance: Requires a Current/Active DOD Secret security clearance.
Location and Logistics
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement and can be based in the Basking Ridge, NJ metro area or the National Capital Region. The role requires approximately 25% domestic travel to engage with potential customers and partners.
