Sr Manager, Cost Accounting

We’re looking for a Sr Manager, Cost Accounting to join our growing Finance Ops team in our Teaneck, NJ office. This in-office role is a critical partner in our financial operations, with a focus on inventory accounting and process improvement as we continue to scale. You’ll play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, driving insights that shape decision-making, and helping to build the systems that support our expanding operations. A day in the life and how you’ll make an impact:
- Lead and continuously enhance operational cost accounting processes, ensuring accurate inventory valuation, cost flows, and subledger-to-GL integrity across locations and third-party partners.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of high-volume transactions in the ERP, including inventory movements, receipts, shipments, and adjustments
- Partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Logistics to align financial records with real-world processes
- Own the end-to-end inventory close process, including valuation methodology, reconciliations, rollforwards, journal entries, and variance analysis, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to senior accounting leadership.
- Develop and maintain operational finance reports and KPIs (inventory aging, turnover, cost variances, operational drivers) to support decision-making
- Support month-end and year-end close across core Finance Operations areas, ensuring timelines, accuracy, and audit readiness
- Participate in physical inventory counts and drive reconciliation and root-cause analysis of discrepancies across systems and locations
- Contribute to broader Finance Operations initiatives such as fixed assets, AP support, process automation, and internal controls
- Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and scale finance processes as the business grows
REQUIREMENTS
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant ownership of inventory accounting and month-end close responsibilities
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, hardware, or supply chain-driven environments required
- Experience working with contract manufacturers (CM) and/or third-party logistics (3PL) providers strongly preferred
- Strong hands-on NetSuite experience required, including inventory module expertise
- Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner effectively across departments and influence decision-making.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Tech-savvy, adaptable, and comfortable introducing new tools, automation, and process improvements.
- Ability to operate independently, prioritize effectively, and drive resolution across cross-functional stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience managing direct reports or mentoring team members is a plus.
- Experience transitioning from periodic inventory accounting to perpetual inventory accounting
- Background in high-growth environments or with high-complexity capital equipment hardware
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and innovation

Compensation:
UVeye provides salary ranges that comply with the New Jersey State Law on salary transparency in job advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, skills, location, education, and operational needs. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentives or other forms of compensation or benefits. The annual base salary range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000.
