We are seeking a highly organized and professional Surgical Coordinator to join our busy orthopedic practice. This role is essential in ensuring the seamless coordination of surgical procedures while providing exceptional support to patients, surgeons, and clinical staff.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses excellent communication and organizational skills, and thrives in a fast-paced medical environment. This position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accuracy, and deliver a high level of patient care.
Description:
- Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures for orthopedic surgeons across multiple facilities
- Communicate surgery dates, times, and pre/post-operative instructions to patients
- Obtain and verify insurance authorizations and referrals
- Schedule and track pre-operative clearances, labs, and imaging
- Ensure all required documentation is completed and submitted in a timely manner
- Act as a liaison between patients, physicians, hospitals, and surgical centers
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date surgical schedules and patient records
- Address patient questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy
Skills and Qualifications:
- - Proven experience in surgical coordination (preferably in an orthopedic or sports medicine setting)
- - Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- - Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- - Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment
- - Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures
