Forklift Operator
Job Description
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk works in a warehouse environment handling incoming and outgoing materials, using RF scanners and warehouse equipment to accurately pick, pack, ship, and receive orders. This role suits someone comfortable working in narrow aisles and at heights, who enjoys hands-on work and wants to grow within a stable organization.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities and documentation, and ensure accurate recording in warehouse systems.
- Pick and prepare customer orders using RF scanners, following order instructions with a high level of accuracy.
- Operate reach trucks and forklifts safely to move, stack, and retrieve materials in narrow aisles and at various heights.
- Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring products are handled carefully and damage is minimized.
- Perform general warehouse labor, including lifting boxes up to 50 lbs consistently, organizing stock, and maintaining clean work areas.
- Use computer systems, including shipping databases and SAP, to process shipments, print labels, and update inventory records.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
- Present a professional and neat appearance while interacting with colleagues and any on-site visitors.
- Maintain reliable and punctual attendance in accordance with strict absence and timekeeping policies.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and demonstrate a desire to learn and grow with the company.
- Experience in shipping and receiving within a warehouse environment.
- Proficiency using RF scanners for order picking and inventory transactions.
- Ability to operate a reach truck safely in narrow aisles and at heights.
- Forklift operation experience for loading, unloading, and material handling.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs consistently throughout the shift.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with FedEx or similar shipping databases.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar warehouse/inventory management systems.
- Reliable punctuality and adherence to strict attendance expectations.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced warehouse setting.
- Professional and presentable demeanor on the warehouse floor.
- Strong attention to detail when picking, packing, and verifying orders.
- Comfort working at heights and in narrow aisle environments.
- Willingness to perform general labor tasks as needed to support warehouse operations.
- Motivation to build a long-term career and grow with the company.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Plainfield, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.50 - $23.25/hr.
