Role Overview
The Sales Manager is a critical member of the company's leadership team, accountable for accelerating revenue growth through both new customer acquisition and expansion within existing accounts. This role leads a team of Security Consultants and Account Managers, translating organizational strategy into clear, actionable sales plans that deliver expected results.
Working closely with the Chief Revenue Officer and Business Unit President, the Sales Manager identifies highvalue customer segments, shapes territory and customer strategies, strengthens key relationships, and drives continuous improvement across the sales organization. This leader combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, ensuring the team consistently meets and exceeds performance expectations.
Key Outcomes & Responsibilities
- Build, lead, and retain a high‑performing sales team through effective recruiting, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
- Conduct regular performance assessments using quantitative metrics and field observation; deliver targeted coaching to elevate individual and team results.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Own the local go‑to‑market strategy in partnership with the CRO, including identification of priority customers, target verticals, and customer acquisition plans.
- Oversee the full sales cycle—from lead generation and qualification through proposal, negotiation, and close—ensuring pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and consistent attainment of sales goals.
- Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging verticals to proactively identify new opportunities and expansion pathways.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex deals or customer challenges, removing obstacles and modeling best‑in‑class selling behaviors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key and strategic customers, identifying opportunities for upselling, cross‑selling, and long‑term partnership growth.
- Champion a value‑based selling approach that aligns customer needs with company capabilities.
- Optimize sales processes, workflows, and team routines to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
- Leverage CRM and sales enablement tools (Salesforce, Pardot, PROS) to generate actionable insights, strengthen forecasting, and support data‑driven decision‑making.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Finance, Marketing, HR, and other internal partners to ensure seamless execution from sale through delivery.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical sales practices while continuously identifying opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in a B2B solution‑based environment, with a strong record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience in the fire and security, construction, or related industries strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high‑performing teams.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen, with experience managing pipelines, forecasts, and performance metrics.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and modern sales enablement tools.
- Exceptional communication, coaching, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to prioritize, execute, and deliver results in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Work Requirements
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Extended periods of computer-based work.
- Regular visits to customer facilities, construction sites, and active job locations to meet with customers, support sales activities, and maintain strong field presence.
