Event Captain
:
EVENT CAPTAIN
· Provides excellent guest service to the client
· Greets clients upon arrival and review the banquet event order and needs for the event
Ensures the guests have a wonderful club experience
Works to anticipate serve needs and handles service recovery issues when needed
Works to train staff on proper service techniques
· Maintains cleanliness of venue
· Assist Catering and Bar Team throughout all events
· Reviews seating diagrams for acceptability and accuracy
· Assist Catering & Bar Leads in food prep, bar setup, serving, among other needs
· Welcomes vendors and assist with setup needs
Performs pre function staff line up to review BEO and inspects the uniforms of all floor staff to ensure propriety
· Manages all Venue Cleaning before, during, and after events
· Communicates regularly with the Bar and Catering Leads throughout event
· Shuts down the Venue at the end of the night and completes Event Captain checklist and return to Catering Manager
· Enforces all employer rules and food service regulations
· Adheres to all health and safety regulations
Qualifications:
· Must have a Can Do Attitude
· Has the strong ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
· Is able to act calmly during stressful situations
· Must be able to stand for long periods of times upwards of 10+ hours
· Has the ability to communicate effectively
· Familiar with the Food Industry guidelines and regulations
· Familiar with multiple serving styles
· Must be comfortable working alone
Education/ Experience:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent
· 3+ years as a banquet captain preferred
· 2-5 years in customer service
· 1 year in the Wedding and Events industry
Hourly Rate $15.00-$17.00 plus gratuity
Department: Catering Manager and Event Staff
Schedule: Nights and Weekends required hours vary
Reports to: Banquet Manager
Travel: Must have reliable transportation
SummaryThe Event Captain role requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in food service management, POS systems, and hospitality. The ideal candidate will have experience in supervising teams, managing kitchen operations, and providing exceptional customer service. Premium skills in food preparation and inventory control are highly valued, along with familiarity with Aloha and Micros POS systems. Relevant experience in banquet services, catering, and bartending will be beneficial. The Event Captain will play a key role in ensuring smooth event operations, maintaining high-quality service standards, and contributing to the overall success of the team.
