Bartender

JOB BRIEF:
A Bartender prepares a variety of beverages and food for patrons. Serving the patrons at the bar or through the wait staff.
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Every bartender must possess the highest level of integrity and follow all
cash handling procedures. The Bartender is one of the first impressions of the restaurant and must be knowledgeable about all
aspects of the restaurant. The Bartender must always promote responsible drinking.
Your ultimate goal will be to provide high-quality service that will help us maintain and attract patrons.
BARTENDER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Maintain Knowledge of:
o Food descriptions.
o Wine descriptions.
o Table numbers.
o Position numbers.
o Product specifications.
o Health codes.
o Safety procedures.
o Sanitation codes.
o Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting
service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
• Organizing the bar area to streamline drink preparation and inventory.
• Keeping a well-stocked bar with an adequate supply of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, napkins, straws, glassware, and
other accessories.
• Slicing, pitting, and preparing fruit garnishes for drinks.
• Checking identification to verify legal age requirements for all patrons.
• Providing a positive and friendly guest experience by interacting with patrons.
• Assessing patrons’ preferences and making drink recommendations.
• Taking beverage orders from patrons or wait staff and serving drinks as requested, paying extreme attention to detail.
• Mixing beverages using an extensive range of ingredients including liquor, bitters, soda, water, sugar, and fruits.
• Satisfying patron requests in a timely manner.
• Preparing and serving appetizers, snacks, or other food items for customers at the bar.
• Collecting money for drinks served and providing change as needed.
• Limiting customer problems by restricting alcohol intake and attempting to curtail inappropriate behavior.
• Cleaning the bar, tables, chairs, and work area to maintain a sanitary environment.
• Balancing Cash Receipts.
• Planning bar menus.
• Creating unique drinks.
• Request order for liquor, beer, wine, and other supplies.
• Complying with all food and beverage regulations.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fine dining restaurant.
• Attention to cleanliness and safety.
• Patience and customer-oriented approach.
• Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude.
• Responsible and trustworthy.
• High school diploma is a plus but not required.

The physical demands described here must be met by the Bartender to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs.

• Regular use of arms, hands, and fingers, including the ability to handle and balance plates (individually, stacked
and/or holding food), flatware, barware and beverages and reach.
