Job Title: Phlebotomist
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist who will be responsible for drawing blood from patients, predominantly Hispanic, and ensuring efficient workflow to minimize patient waiting times. This role involves performing 20-30+ blood draws daily, including pediatric patients. The Phlebotomist must provide excellent customer service to enhance patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws using straight needles and butterfly needles.
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections clearly and courteously.
• Understand and execute physicians' orders accurately.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Ensure test requisitions or computer labels are correct against scripts.
• Package specimens for transport and store them at required temperatures.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Handle telephone inquiries and provide laboratory results as needed.

This position involves working Monday through Friday, with some locations requiring Saturday shifts. The work will be conducted across various locations in New York. The environment is fast-paced and requires maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Raritan, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Raritan,NJ.
