The Woodbridge Office is looking for a Paralegal to join our growing team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Draft simple pleadings for final review by attorney
• Draft initial discovery to meet circumstances of case for final review by attorney
• Obtain signed authorizations and/or prepare Notices of Intention to Serve Subpoena
• Prepare Certificate Prerequisites
• Arrange for service of subpoenas
• Track all dates for docket follow-up
• Request appropriate records from medical providers and follow up until received
• Organize and summarize medical records Schedule and draft Notices of Deposition
• Compile documents needed for use at deposition
• Initiate new file analysis including initial review of documents, conflicts check, and create new file memo summarizing case for review by attorney
• Meet or talk with witnesses and draft memo to file summarizing conversation
• Prepare status summaries for use at roundtable or internal case status meetings
• Research jury verdicts and background checks for claimants and witnesses
• Update and maintain case lists and attorney case counts
• Close files and prepare them for storage
• Compile regular audits of active cases for activity and impending deadlines

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or one to two years of related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years paralegal experience preferred.
• Paralegal certification required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, ProLaw, Excel, and e-document management software preferred.
• Must be a self-motivated independent thinker with excellent time management skills, strong organizational skills, and outstanding communication skills with the ability to work as a team member in a high-volume fast paced work environment.

This is an in-person position.

The salary rage for this position is $55,000-75,000 and represents C&W’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend upon a number of factors, included but not limited to experience and qualifications.
