Quality Control Technician

Staff Management Group is seeking a Quality Control Technician for our client in Jamesburg, NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.

Schedule:

• 3rd Shift: 10:30PM - 6:30AM

Pay Rate:

• $20 - $23 / hour

Job Summary:

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role works closely with production teams to monitor manufacturing processes, identify quality issues, and support continuous improvement while maintaining a strong focus on safety and accuracy.

Job Responsibilities:

• Inspect raw materials, components, work-in-progress, and finished products for defects, non-conformities, and deviations from quality standards
• Verify that manufacturing processes are performed correctly and in compliance with established quality procedures
• Inspect finished goods to confirm they meet required specifications and quality expectations
• Examine packaged products for weight, dimensions, appearance, labeling, and overall quality
• Perform line clearance inspections and verify cleaning and sanitation effectiveness, including pre-operational inspections and ATP swabbing
• Monitor and verify established Critical Control Points (CCPs), including metal detectors and X-ray systems
• Reject and properly document any materials or products that do not meet quality standards
• Collect production batch samples for testing and verification
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of inspections, testing results, and deviations
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend corrective actions
• Ensure inspection and testing equipment is properly calibrated and functioning correctly
• Investigate root causes of quality issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions
• Conduct internal audits to ensure ongoing compliance with quality standards and regulations
• Communicate clearly with production staff, QA teams, and management regarding quality findings
• Follow all safety protocols and perform quality control activities safely
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Quality Control certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Quality Control or related role
• Strong understanding of quality control standards and inspection techniques
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Good math, technical, and communication skills
• Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift, with occasional sitting for documentation
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs while wearing required PPE (hairnet, beard net if applicable, earplugs, safety glasses)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
