Childcare Assistant Teacher

ABC Me Grow is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant/Floater Teacher to join our childcare center. As an assistant teacher, you will be responsible for helping to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for children between the ages of infant to school age. We are a family owned center and have continued to grow through out the years, we are excited to have you join our team! Your primary goal will be to facilitate the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child under your care while maintaining a safe, clean, and engaging classroom setting. Experience is a plus, but not required we will train the right person! Pay rate is based on any experience, trainings, and degrees the candidate holds.

Hours: 10:30 to close (5:30) We are flexible on the hours, More hours available for when there are call outs/vacations etc.

Monday through Friday

Responsibilities:

• Assist the lead teacher of the classroom, while also being able to handle classroom management with co-workers.
• Care & Supervision of the children in the classroom.
• Work well with a team, and comfortable following directions, stepping in to help the lead teacher in the classroom.
• The ability to have patience with the children in your care as well as the ability to redirect them in a positive manner.
• Guide and facilitate children through social, emotional, and cognitive learning.
• Follow state guidelines as well as school policies.
• Communicate appropriately with parents, teachers, and administration to ensure the best care for the children.
• Cleaning & Sanitizing classrooms and toys Daily.
• Engage in play with all children in the classroom.
• Assist with meal times, potty breaks, diaper changes, outside play, center time, and daily activity as needed by the lead teacher..
• Input updates, messages, & Pictures to Brightwheel.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

• Minimum of Highschool Diploma
• Experience working with children in a childcare setting is a plus, but are willing to train the right person!
• Willingness to learn, attend meetings, and complete required trainings.
• Reliable transportation
• Knowledge of the care of children and age appropriate activities.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain with in 60 days of hire)
• Required to have a clear fingerprint & Background check through the Child care center.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.60 - $16.50 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• No nights
• No weekends
