Preferred:
- MSN from an accredited school
- OR Leadership Experience
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- CNOR Certification preferred or required within one year of hire
- Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement
- BLS from the American Heart Association
Scheduling Requirements:
- Day Shift, 40 hours
- Full Time
- 5 Days a week
Essential Functions:
The Assistant Director of Patient Care must be committed to maintaining the highest standards of nursing practice in the operating room. This individual will provide expert oversight of and drive compliance with established policies, procedures and regulatory standards set forth by CMS and AORN. They will also support positive patient and employee engagement and work with the nurse educator to ensure current best practices are in use. The ADPC will also ensure adherence to surgical protocols, including but not limited to upholding strict sterile techniques and optimal room efficiency, in order to promote a culture of quality care and patient safety, and drive the mission and vision of RWJBH-JCMC. This person will maintain high visibility on the unit and function as a clinical resource and role model for the staff. Will also participate in hiring and evaluating staff.
The Assistant Director should be proficient in the room, working during a surgical case and running the desk if occasionally needs to cover those duties. Other duties as assigned may include, but not limited to, quality improvement work and work related to ensuring Magnet standards.
