Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting business decision-making. This role will be responsible for assisting with the month-end close process, preparing journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Prepare and review journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, including detailed analysis and resolution of discrepancies.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation and review.
- Conduct variance analysis on key accounts, identifying trends, anomalies, and providing insights to management.
- Prepare and reconcile bank accounts on a regular basis.
- Support the preparation of board deck slides and presentations, ensuring accuracy and clarity of financial information.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, completeness and accuracy of financial data.
- Assist with audits, both internal and external, by providing schedules and documentation.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
- Assist with accounting and reconciliations for the fleet vehicles
- Review monthly sales and profit margins to detect and address any discrepancies or errors.
- Support of other month-end close or budgeting/forecasting activities and provide relevant reports and analysis.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulations.
- Identify and implement process improvements in accounts payable, receivable, and the month-end close to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with teams across departments, including purchasing, sales, and engineering, to ensure smooth workflows and resolve any emerging issues.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
- 2+ years of accounting experience with a nationally recognized public accounting firm (Top 20).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel (VLOOKUP, IF statements, pivot tables, charts, graphs), Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
