The School of Nursing and Wellness Operations Manager will support an expanding nursing major. The Operations Manager oversees admissions, clinical coordination, student services, administrative operations, and faculty support of all nursing programs include the ABSN, DEMSN and traditional nursing programs. Serves as the "ombudsperson" in providing quality customer service for students. Is the non-academic program liaison with potential, current, and matriculated students. Manages the organizational unit and participates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures. Coordinates compliance activities and scheduling of students for clinical placement.
This is a full time position in the Hackensack Meridian Health School of Nursing and Wellness beginning Summer 2025.
Essential Functions:
- Integrate the Mercy core values of respect, integrity, compassion, justice and service in all aspects of interaction.
- Oversees admissions, clinical coordination, student services, administrative operations, and faculty support of all nursing programs.
- Coordinate delivery of all courses within a designated program ensuring alignment with program outcomes, accreditation standards and evidence based teachingpractices.
- Interface with third party vendors for student resource procurement, setup and maintenances including ATI and compliance vendors.
- Participate in the planning and delivery of course orientations and educational sessions for educators, adjunct faculty and lab instructorsensuring alignment with program standards and promoting consistency ininstruction and assessment
- Serves as the "ombudsperson" in providing quality customer service for students. Is the non-academic program liaison with potential, current, and matriculated students.
- Manages the organizational unit and participates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Student services: plans and oversees new student orientation; manages administration of ATI testing; resolves student issues that arise; works with Dept Chair and Dean of Nursing in developing course schedule. Maintains data files on students profiles for data collection, analyses, interpretation, evaluation, and future planning.
- Clinical coordination: Assist Dept Chairs in booking all facilities for clinical rotations; Evaluates data and grants medical clearance for student entrance into clinical practice setting; provides all orientation material to faculty and students; facilitates background checks.
- Office management: works in conjunction with Dept Chair and Dean of Nursing to hire adjuncts/new faculty; maintains and analyzes statistics on cohort and cohort outcomes. . Drafts letters letters dealing with administrative matters.
- Faculty support: works in conjunction with the Chairs in mentoring new adjuncts; acts as liaison between faculty and clinical facilities.
- Coordinates all compliance activities
- Recruitment: Serve as the main point of contact for inquiries of prospective students; evaluate students who would be a good fit for the program and actively recruit them to apply and enroll.
- Participate in departmental functions such as lectures, Open House, etc; and
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree preferred , Masters in Nursing preferred
- Knowledge of nursing curricular design/assessment and BON and/or CCNE accreditation.
- Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with students and faculty
- Strong management and organizational skillset and recent School of Nursing administrative experience
