Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to troubleshoot, diagnose, adjust, and repair equipment and vehicles, including electrical, brake, hydraulic, cooling, and power steering systems, as well as engines and other standard electrical components. This role involves performing preventative and corrective maintenance and inspections independently, following manufacturer and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Independently carry out maintenance servicing on GSE (Ground Support Equipment) and/or Commercial Trucks following OEM specifications and company standards.
- Safely and securely transport GSE and/or Commercial Trucks.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including basic electrical repairs, on a range of GSE and/or Commercial Trucks.
- Utilize GSE and Commercial Truck manuals to look up necessary repair information.
- Conduct thorough inspections, including checking vehicle hours, water, oil levels, lights, and overall condition to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Report and discuss with the supervisor any damage or work outside the prescribed scope to determine appropriate next steps.
- Perform refurbishing tasks, including fabrication, body work, painting, welding, and upholstery, ensuring standards of quality and safety are met.
- Prioritize tasks effectively to maintain productivity and meet customer requirements.
- Perform on-call responsibilities as required, ensuring timely response to urgent operational needs.
Essential Skills
- Experience in preventive maintenance, hydraulics, and diesel engines.
- Strong electrical experience and proficiency in diagnosing and repairing automotive, diesel, truck, and engine issues.
- Proficiency with GSE (Ground Support Equipment) and electrical systems.
- Must be open to work one weekend day out of the week, and on 1st and/or 2nd shift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License required; CDL preferred but not required.
- Must provide personal hand tools; specialized tools and diagnostic equipment are supplied.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in using mobile devices and relevant applications.
- Solid understanding of essential safety, quality, and operational protocols.

Work Environment
Technicians receive tasks from tablets and carry out a variety of maintenance duties, including PMs, check engine lights, and brake repairs. The maintenance is comprehensive, covering everything from bumper to bumper. Trucks are primarily diesel, with a few gas engine trucks. Shift hours include 1st and 2nd shifts.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $76960.00/yr.
They offer three different medical plans with UHC (1 HSA plan and two traditional plans), there is cost sharing as well, for Employee Only TCR covers 80% of the monthly premium, for EE+ 1 or EE + Family TCR covers 65%. Delta is through Delta Dental And Vision is through UHC It's a comprehensive benefits package including health, vision, and dental insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, a 401k plan, PTO, paid sickness leave, and the provision of all PPE. Also provides employees with long and short term disability and life insurance at no cost. Additional life insurance can also be purchased through Lincoln.
