EHS Manager

The EHS Manager is responsible for the planning, directing and the sustainment of the organization’s Environmental, Health and Safety policies and programs to ensure the safety of all employees, visitors, and contractors. This includes but is not limited to the protection of the environment and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations as well as Company policies, strategies, initiatives, and goals. The EHS Manager will recommend innovative solutions and process improvements across multiple sites to achieve overall EHS blueprint.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, deploy, and monitor all EHS programs, procedures, policies, and standards in a manner that ensures compliance to Federal, State, Local and company policies and standards.
- Provide focus, direction, leadership, and technical expertise to the business functional groups.
- Collaborates with business functional groups to assure that employee safety and compliance with EHS regulations are supported.
- Proactively manage the administration of Workers Compensation benefits, case management, and cost containment measures.
- Recommends EHS goals and objectives and support the organization in the implementation of EHS goals and objectives.
- Participate in the Capital planning process w/operations and engineering to provide guidance and technical to ensure EHS measures are addressed.
- Ensure all EHS training is up to date for all personnel.
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting EHS functions.
- Establishes, performs, and reports metrics pertinent to EHS activities
- Manages EHS job functions for duties such as job safety analyses/risk assessments, EHS training, workplace incident analyses, industrial hygiene evaluations, EHS inspections, environmental regulatory reporting, permit negotiation, data collection / analysis and internal audits.
- Leads ergonomic risk assessments and makes appropriate recommendations.
- Collaborates with facility functional groups for the evaluation of new materials to ensure compliance in EHS requirements and facility procedures.
- Conducts EHS reviews for new product development, facility modification, product manufacturing modifications, and new equipment/machinery installations.
- Selects and applies EHS principles, theories, and concepts and uses independent judgment to develop and design practical solutions to EHS issues.
- Directs emergency and spill response plans, and disaster preparedness plans, materials, and equipment, as well as the facility emergency response team to ensure appropriate training, practices drills, and equipment are in a ready state.
- Manages the monitoring of employee exposure to chemical and other toxic substances and physical hazards, including Industrial Hygiene (IH) sampling and coordinating the activities with Industrial Hygienists, and other safety consultants as required.
- Manage OSHA incident and injury reporting and conduct incident investigations to determine root cause in order to prevent repeat incidents.
- Budget, manage, and track EHS costs.
- Must communicate EHS team expectations and give frequent and appropriate feedback to their EHS team and ensure they are executing to the core competencies of a MANE EHS Professional. This individual must also demonstrate the ability to judge and assess EHS talent and select appropriate bench strength to current and future business needs.
- Every employee is expected to participate in education/training about MANE’s environmental commitments and then actively apply this to job-related and job-specific roles and responsibilities.
- Management will support and facilitate education, training and action within their teams to effectively and adequately implement environmental policies, procedures and practices, as well as promote continual improvement consistent with environmental objectives.
- Any other additional duties assigned by his/her manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree required with Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related filed preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of experience as an EHS Professional in a manufacturing environment.
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Experience providing EHS training to employees.
- Fundamental understanding of chemistry and technical terms.
- Good technical and project management skills
- Ability to make decisions and work independently
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $115,000 to $145,000. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, geographic location, and applicable legal considerations. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, which is awarded based on both individual and company performance.
