Job Purpose
The Manager of Employment Partnerships is responsible for coordinating all aspects of vocational client development and support regarding employment and work readiness of transition into the workforce, including ensuring job development, coaching and transportation to and from work and training sites with the assistance of a team of Transitional Coordinators. This manager develops community relationship awareness of the benefits of working with the intellectually and developmentally disabled (IDD) population.
The Manager of Employment Partnerships is also responsible for training and monitoring the Transitional Coordinators when contacting prospective employers in an effort to develop specific opportunities (work experience or job placement) for clients and prepare a specific plan to facilitate skill matching. This position must consider the capacity of the client, as well as, the areas of interest of the client. The Manager of Employment Partnerships must stay informed about industry current trends and best practices regarding the employment of the IDD population. This manager is also responsible for interfacing and communicating with all client stakeholders.
Essential Functions
- Assist in development plan preparation for each client
- Ensure performance of Transitional Coordinators when contacting prospective employers to develop specific opportunities (work experience or job placement) for clients and prepare specific job analysis to facilitate job matching
- Report all contact (with description, i.e., reason for contact, result, regarding which client if applicable, date and time, as well as, name of contact, result and next steps) of prospective employment partnerships weekly
- Ensure that all Transitional Coordinators provide instruction in self-advocacy to client
- Advocate on behalf of clients
- Visit all TSITES monthly and random for proper implementation of skill instruction and client relations
- Report on status of all TSITES monthly, i.e., transitions of any type, new TSITE development, including client progress, etc.
- Monitor van transportation schedule
- Evaluate prospective clients for employment readiness
- Interact with DVR and Support Coordinators to ensure compliance and departmental growth
Supervision of Transitional Coordinators
Responsible for being informed about up to date trends regarding employment for the learning and developmentally disabled.
- Develop training program and implement training for all Transitional Coordinators regarding development of employee partnerships
- Evaluate and monitor performance of all Transitional coordinators regarding development of employment partnerships
- Encourage and implement professional development and best practices in the areas of employment opportunities for the learning and developmentally disabled population.
- Monitor the Transportation/Transitional Coordinator position
- Visits must be made to all employment partnership sites twice per month
- Conduct regular staff meetings
Reporting and Financial Management
- Document all billable services as per DVR/DDD/Medicaid via Foothold
- Budget development and monitoring and reporting regarding department activity
- Develop standard of metrics to evaluate impact of activities of all aspects of department
- Monthly tracking/reporting of all employment partnerships activity relative to client management
- Assist in grant writing relative to training programs for the learning and developmentally disabled
Outreach
- Interact with community relative to the awareness and opportunities for learning and developmentally disabled population
- Develop relationships with Support Coordinators in catchment area counties

Other Responsibilities
- Assist in the organization and implementation of one Job Opportunity Fairs per year. This event will bring together private, corporate and nonprofit organizations interested in hired the learning and developmentally disabled population.

Educational Requirements
- Degree, accreditation or 5 years experienced in working with learning and developmentally disabled or related field
Work Experience Requirement
- 4 plus years’ experience working with adults with learning and developmental disabilities
- 3 years’ IDD vocational support experience
Skills/Abilities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to foster community partnerships and relationships with people across a spectrum of intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and respond quickly to crises and emergencies; ability to prevent or minimize crises

- Excellent computer skills including a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- Must be available for coverage on some weekends and after 5pm when required.
Special Working Conditions/Physical/Requirements – Working Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

- Must hold a high school diploma
- Valid New Jersey driver's license is required
- Must hold CPR/First Aid Valid Certification
- Successful clearance of NJ background check
- Successful clearance of Drug Screening
- Has fulfilled the necessary training requirements and is in good standing in order to bill Medicaid for Support and Community Care Waiver (CCW) Services and CDS and DDD compliance
