Short Description The Registered RN is a professional care-giver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self. Follows established policies and procedures. Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors. Provides excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management and physicians. Applies Cooper core values. Other duties as required. Overview Cooper’s Neuroscience Unit is a 16-bed ICU paired with a state-of-the-art Neuro Interventional Suite, that together form an integral part of Cooper Comprehensive Stroke Center. Our nurses provide expert neurological care in both settings to ensure seamless continuity of care for our patients across a wide range of neurological diagnoses. With the most advanced technology and providers, Cooper expands its capabilities to care for neurological patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The healthcare professionals take tremendous pride in teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration. In addition, we provide outreach to bring stroke and neurological education to improve community health. Experience Required A minimum of two years of acute care RN experience in an inpatient setting is required. Education Requirements Graduate of NLN-accredited School of Nursing License/Certification Requirements C urrent NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse) Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers) Certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e. ACLS, NALS, PALS) Special Requirements Per Diem, 7pm-7am, rotating holidays and weekends Nurses shall work at least two (2) weekend shifts per six week schedule and one (1) other shift per 6 week schedule. In addition, two (2) holiday shifts per year (one winter and one summer). Weekend shifts are defined as one Friday/one Saturday or one Saturday/one Sunday for night shift and one Saturday/one Sunday for day shift.
