AI-based tutoring, mastery progression models, and fundamental shifts away from traditional classroom formats produce these outcomes. The performance is remarkable. We now seek a leader capable of aligning execution across varied school implementations, elevating academic leadership standards, and serving as the public advocate for a movement rooted in evidence-based learning science.

This is not a position for academic abstraction. It's an operational leadership charge. You'll direct the academic strategy in action, establish rigorous standards, surface execution shortfalls, and develop high-performing teams to achieve tangible results. You'll convert our scientific underpinnings into operational rigor and champion this model globally.

What You Will Be Doing

• Designing academic structures that convert learning science into actionable direction for curriculum development, motivation frameworks, and application architecture.
• Conducting academic execution evaluations with Heads of Academics to guarantee school teams remain aligned, responsible, and outcome-focused.
• Integrating data analysis, stakeholder interviews, and direct observation into comprehensive academic ecosystem assessments that identify the most critical obstacles to accelerated learning and recommend targeted solutions.
• Ensuring strategic cohesion through planning processes, continuous feedback mechanisms, and milestone monitoring to sustain commitment to student learning objectives.
• Serving as the face of 2 Hour Learning in prominent forums, from keynote presentations to engagements with Ministries of Education, advancing systemic transformation in global education paradigms.

• Producing theoretical research disconnected from measurable student outcomes or implementation.
• Transferring accountability for performance to middle management or external consultants.

Director Of Academic Excellence Key Responsibilities

Expand and refine 2 Hour Learning's validated academic approach by standardizing execution across school sites, raising leadership performance expectations, and establishing yourself as the authoritative spokesperson for a movement anchored in empirical science and demonstrated impact.

Basic Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field
• 7+ years leading academic or EdTech teams with evidence of exceptional learning outcomes
• Proven experience applying AI or technology to accelerate learning
• Track record of public thought leadership such as media, keynotes, books, or advising
• Strong performance management skills with the ability to hold elite peers to a high bar
• Fluent in interpreting data to diagnose learning issues and direct interventions
• Comfortable engaging directly with students, parents, and school leaders

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Founded or led an innovative school model, lab school, or high-performing EdTech venture
• Experience navigating cultural, political, or international education contexts
• Deep familiarity with Bloom's 2 Sigma research and other mastery learning frameworks

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
