Job Title: Phlebotomist - Somerset

Job Description

Join a dynamic and busy office in the Somerset region, where you will be part of a team of phlebotomists handling a high volume of patients daily. This role offers the opportunity to work in one of the most reputable pediatric blood draw offices.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, and record maintenance data and decontamination.
• Update patient information and collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collections clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles.
• Understand and execute physicians' orders accurately.
• Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results.

Essential Skills

• Strong phlebotomy skills and excellent customer service.
• Pediatric experience is essential due to high volume of pediatric patients.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in phlebotomy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in handling over 200 patients per day.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be on your feet for most of the day.
• Training provided for processing and centrifuging specimens.

Work Environment

The role involves working in a fast-paced setting, primarily focused on blood draws. The shift hours are from 6:30am to 3:00pm, with every third Saturday from 7:00am to 11:00am. The environment requires mobility and is centered around patient interaction, with no front desk duties involved.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.40 - $20.65/hr.
