Position Overview:
The Settlements Administrator is responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of settlement processing in collaboration with the Accounting and Compliance teams. This role requires a highly detail-oriented and analytical professional who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Compliance Officer and Accounting team to manage the end-to-end settlement process
- Accurately enter and maintain data across various financial systems
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure all settlement-related transactions are properly recorded
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports and supporting documentation
- Execute established settlement procedures and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Serve as a liaison with clients, vendors, and external legal professionals as needed
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams throughout the settlement process
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results
- Support ad hoc Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) activities
- Report directly to the Controller and work closely with the Compliance Officer
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in settlements, accounting, or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or a related discipline preferred
- Prior experience in the legal industry or law firm accounting is a plus
- Strong understanding of the accounting lifecycle and full-cycle accounts payable
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines, including occasional evenings/weekends
- Analytical, data-driven mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
- Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and other functions required)
- Highly tech-savvy with the ability to learn new systems quickly
