The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
The Staffing Coordinator supports the Nurse Staffing Office with implementing all staffing policies and ensure safe daily staffing assignments, which responsibilities include evaluating and assigning daily staffing and schedules, addressing and reviewing shifts available for pickups and swaps, modifying daily work schedule to accommodate sick calls, leave of absence, and staffing reassignments in coordination with department managers.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school graduate
- Experience in healthcare and scheduling
- Medical Terminology
Preferred:
- AA/AS preferred
Scheduling Requirements:
- Per Diem Day
- Rotating weekends and holidays
Essential Functions:
- Monitor and provide recommendations for shift call-outs to meet business demands
- Proactively fill vacant shifts and staffing gaps by contacting employees via scheduling software in conjunction with contacting employees by phone, email, and other electronic platforms, as needed while minimizing the usage of overtime by providing hours/shifts to per diem employees and optimizing per-diem staff
- Draft and balance staff schedules under the coordination and approval of the department manager
- Manages the activities of the Staffing Office, organizing information and providing staffing and other reports to management
- Provides secretarial, receptionist, clerical, and general office duties, including scheduling, staffing, and payroll, completing activities with minimal supervision
- Collaborates with other staffing personnel on all aspects of the job
- Ensures staff is well trained in securing replacement personnel on a timely, cost-effective basis, provides support and direction to staffers, monitors staffing effectiveness and personnel compliance with policies and procedures
- Fosters strong working relationships with all levels of Nursing Management
- Responsible for training new staff
