Laser Applications Technician I

Preco is now hiring for a Laser Applications Tech for their Somerset, WI location.

It is the responsibility of the Laser Applications Technician I to set up and run laser systems to process customer parts/product, assuring maximum safety and efficiency. They also inspect parts to verify conformance to customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:  

1. Set up and operate custom designed/standard laser machinery to process customer parts/product in accordance to customer specifications, using previously set parameters.

2. Perform more detailed quality inspections of finished product, using various measuring tools.

3. Start up and shut down systems.

4. Perform necessary PM’s.

5. Perform beam delivery.

6. Calibrate galvos.

7. Troubleshoot system issues.

8. Train operators.

9. Use Excel and Word frequently.

10. On-call technical support per the on-call policy.

11. Complete all necessary paperwork whether it be hard copy or electronic.

12. Follow and assist in creating work instructions.

13. Package parts and route to shipping.

14. Perform work cell clean up as required.

15. Various other duties as directed by Supervisor.

Job Requirements  

· High school education or GED required. 2-year technical degree preferred.

·1–3 year industrial experience.

· Ability to read and understand blueprints.

· Computer skills i.e., Microsoft Office, CAD a plus.

· Strong math aptitude.

Preferred Qualifications:  

· Able to safely drive a forklift.
