We are currently seeking to hire Utilization Review Representative to join our corporate NJ Team!
The Utilization Review Specialist collaborates with Avenues Recovery facilities regarding Utilization Review (UR) and ensures that all clients are authorized for treatment at the appropriate level of care in a timely manner. The UR Specialist serves a dual function ensuring quality and comprehensive charting of all services rendered by maintaining collaborative lines of communication with facility leadership.
Responsibilities Include , but are not limited to, the following:
- Fielding incoming calls, emails and other correspondence relating to new clients that require Authorization
- Working closely with the Avenues Recovery billing team to properly coordinate and flag potential issues that may arise
- Assist staff with creating uniformed templates and processes that can be used at all Avenues facilities
- Work with site administrators to ensure that proper templates and processes are being implemented
- Manage a client caseload and Coordinate with treatment team to assess and advocate for continued stay at recommended level of care
- Documenting and maintaining electronic records related to all UR correspondence and authorization by utilizing internal computer software
- Nursing degree/knowledge in healthcare preferred

Required Education
- Graduation from High School or GED/Bachelor's Degree
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Required Experience
- A minimum of 1-year experience in treatment industry preferred.
Licensure/Certification
- Current and valid state issued Driver License
- Valid CPR certification and First Aid
