Director of SOX – Business Process

Our client, a leading cloud infrastructure company powering AI innovation, is seeking a Director of SOX – Business Process to lead the design and execution of its SOX program.

Location

This role is Hybrid, with in‑office expectations 3 days per week at one of several U.S. locations.

Job Description

This role focuses on internal controls across inventory, supply chain, and lease accounting processes. The position offers the opportunity to shape a scalable SOX framework in a newly public, high‑growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and maturity of SOX programs for business process controls.
• Partner cross‑functionally with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, IT, and Legal to strengthen ICFR.
• Guide process owners through control design, remediation, and optimization.
• Manage relationships with internal and external auditors.
• Drive automation and efficiency in control environments while maintaining compliance.
• Oversee SOX readiness and reporting from roadmap through execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CIA, or CISA strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of SOX/internal audit experience, ideally with Big 4 and in‑house leadership roles.
• Expertise in inventory processes and controls, ERP integrations, and supply chain operations.
• Hands‑on experience with lease accounting (ASC 842).
• Proven success in SOX program design and execution in pre‑IPO or newly public companies.
• Strong project management and stakeholder influence skills.
