Position: ABA Paraprofessional

The ABA Paraprofessional will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide direct behavioral interventions and support to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).

Responsibilities:

Direct Student Support:

• Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as prescribed by the BCBA.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group instruction as needed.
• Assist with daily living skills, such as eating, toileting, and hygiene.
• Implement behavior reduction strategies and positive reinforcement techniques.
• Collect data on student behavior and performance to inform treatment decisions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and services provided.

Communication and Collaboration:

• Communicate effectively with BCBA, teachers, parents, and other professionals.
• Attend and participate in IEP meetings and other relevant meetings.
• Collaborate with the BCBA to develop and modify behavior intervention plans as needed.

Professionalism and Ethics:

• Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Maintain a positive and supportive attitude towards students and staff.

Qualifications

• ABA Certificate
• Minimum of 48 college credits from an accredited college or university or passing the state paraprofessional exam
• Current and active criminal background check
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in an educational setting
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations
• Willingness to perform physical tasks, such as lifting, carrying, and changing diapers

License/Certification:

• ABA Certificate (required)

Ability to Commute:

• Bridgeton, NJ 08302 (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

• Bridgeton, NJ 08302: Relocate before starting work (Required)
