Student Engagement and Resource Specialist The Licking Regional Educational Service Center is seeking a Student Engagement and Resource Specialist to serve Newark High School students. The Student Engagement and Resource Specialist is responsible for providing guidance and support to high school students with a focus on but not exclusive to students who are in the Work Based Learning (WBL) program or are English Language Learners (ELL) foster or homeless. This specialist will promote the five core Social Emotional Learning Competencies of Self-Awareness Self-Management Social Awareness Relationship Skills and Responsible Decision-Making to help students overcome obstacles and reach their full potential. The specialist will build trusting relationships with students assess and define challenge areas develop goals and provide accountability and encouragement. The specialist will connect students and their families to school and community resources as needed and maintain communication with administration teachers students and families. The ideal candidates will possess the following minimum qualifications: of undergraduate core program public education or social work behavioral science child development or comparable education preferred.2.4 yrs training or experience in supervisory administrative managerial as related to youth development juvenile corrections/detention and/or public oral communications skills professional writing ability and the ability to listen and relate to students and of or motivated to acquire cultural competency in a high poverty environment.
