Trial Attorney - Insurance Defense

We are a multidiscipline law firm with a team of attorneys strategically positioned across the Eastern U.S, focused on a variety of practice areas including products liability, premises liability, medical malpractice, professional malpractice, construction and commercial transportation, as well as employment issues in the areas of workers compensation and discrimination. With a robust workforce of over 200 professionals in more than a dozen offices, we effectively address the legal needs of our clients at both local and regional levels.

Our Mt. Laurel, NJ Office is looking for an experienced Trial Attorney to join our growing team.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in New Jersey state and federal court.
• Bench and jury trial experience is required.
• Experience and familiarity with New Jersey State Rules of Court, New Jersey Federal Rules of Court, Rules of Evidence.
• Experience with trial court and/or appellate court oral argument.
• Experience taking party, witness and expert depositions and de bene esse depositions.

Responsibilities

Case Management:

• Manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense and coverage matters from inception to resolution.

• Conduct legal research to develop case strategies and defenses.

• Draft and file key legal documents while ensuring compliance with client guidelines.

Client Interaction:

• Act as a primary contact for clients, providing updates and addressing concerns.

• Build strong client relationships through effective communication and guidance on legal issues.

Litigation Work:

• Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and mediations.

• Handle discovery processes, including document review and depositions.

Coverage Analysis:

• Analyze insurance policies to determine coverage obligations and potential liabilities.

• Negotiate coverage disputes with opposing counsel and insurers.

Team Collaboration:

• Mentor junior attorneys and support staff, providing guidance as needed.

• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure comprehensive case handling.

Business Development:

• Engage in marketing and business development activities to attract and retain clients.

• Participate in industry events to enhance visibility and expand the client base.
