Department Overview

Join Rave's growing engineering team! Our software-as-a-service (SaaS) product suite keeps millions of people across North America safe, secure and connected. We work to create new features, maintain vital systems, and bring immediate aid during emergencies. We use a variety of frontend and backend technologies including Java, Spring, Vue.js, MySQL, Artemis, and AWS. We are customer focused while placing importance on stable, reliable infrastructure.

We are seeking an experienced and fast-learning Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for improving the design and development of a scalable suite of critical Alerting applications that are part of the Rave Mobile Safety Platform. Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the design and development of critical Alerting applications.

  • Develop full stack systems, leveraging your expertise in backend technologies such as Java and Spring, as well as frontend technologies like JavaScript.

  • Contribute to site operations and ensure the smooth functioning of our software products.

  • Utilize cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and others, to optimize scalability and performance.

  • Analyze code quickly and efficiently as an experienced Enterprise Java developer.

  • Design and implement APIs, including integration with third-party libraries and APIs.

  • Write queries, schema changes, and indexes in databases, specifically MySQL, and utilize SQL to optimize data management and retrieval.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other relevant fields.

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience developing full stack systems.

  • Strong knowledge of backend technologies such as Java and Spring.

  • Proficiency in frontend technologies, including JavaScript.

  • Familiarity with site operations and cloud platforms, such as AWS and Azure.

  • Experience as an Enterprise Java developer, with the ability to analyze code quickly.

  • Proficiency in API design and implementation, including integration with third-party libraries and APIs.

  • Knowledge of databases, specifically MySQL
