Location: Plainfield, NJ 07060
Rate: $55/hour
Schedule: Full-time, academic year
Certification Required: Yes – NJ CE, CEAS, or standard certification in Physical Education/Health

Position Summary
The Physical Education & Health Teacher will create an engaging, inclusive, and structured environment that promotes physical wellness and health education. This role requires collaboration, initiative, and a commitment to high expectations and student development.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement standards-aligned physical education and health lessons

• Foster a classroom culture that is safe, respectful, and engaging

• Use various instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs

• Track and assess student progress using formal and informal assessments

• Communicate proactively with students, families, and staff

• Manage student behavior and build positive relationships

• Lead parent-teacher conferences and maintain regular family updates

• Support non-instructional duties such as recess and lunch supervision

• Attend meetings and participate in professional development

• Perform additional duties as assigned by school leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required

• Valid NJ teaching certification in Physical Education/Health (or eligible for CE/CEAS)

• At least one year of teaching experience preferred; charter or urban school background is a plus

• Strong classroom management and instructional planning skills

• Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues

• Passion for health, wellness, and student achievement
