Job Description
The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the daily maintenance and repair of airport building facilities. This includes work on elevators, conveyor systems, mechanical systems, lighting systems, communication/radio systems, air handling/HVAC units, fire systems, plumbing systems, and more. Technicians may also work with PLC electronic systems, computer controls, and steel frame structures.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair tasks on various airport building facilities including elevators, conveyor systems, and HVAC units.
- Work with communication and radio systems, fire systems, and plumbing systems.
- Engage in high and low voltage electrical repairs, including installation and repair of 110/220/480 volt single and multiphase electrical circuitry.
- Read and follow wiring schematics for industrial wiring tasks.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions and around the clock shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Essential Skills
- Thorough knowledge of general building maintenance with an emphasis on electrical systems.
- Experience in electrical troubleshooting including AC & DC circuits and high voltage (480) repairs.
- Experience in industrial maintenance, electrical maintenance, and preventive maintenance.
- Ability to read and follow wiring schematics.
- Experience in electronics diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Valid, clean, applicable state driver's license.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Journeyman electrical license is a plus.
- Experience in related building equipment and trades such as plumbing, steam fitting, and conveyors.
- Possession of personal tools required.
- Ability to climb and work from ladders, and walk for extended periods.
- Moderate lifting capability.
- 24 months of experience required in at least three of the following areas: Electrical, Structural, HVAC, Mechanical.

Work Environment
The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings at airport terminals. Be prepared to work on a flexible schedule that covers all shifts, including weekends and holidays. Schedules are bid and awarded based on seniority.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Newark, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $71802.00 - $71802.00/yr.
