Shift: 7am-3:30pm (Monday-Friday)

Job Description

The Material Handler is responsible for proficiently managing inventory and logistics operations utilizing the MRP System. This role involves training team members, ensuring accurate inventory transactions, operating forklifts, and handling materials at heights over 10 feet. The position requires cross-training in various areas such as warehouse management, final product shipping, and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Operate and interface with the MRP System for inventory control and transactions.
• Train team members on warehouse and logistics operations and the proper use of the MRP System.
• Operate forklifts and handle materials safely at heights over 10 feet in the warehouse.
• Verify the accuracy of quantities received and shipped, processing return shipments when necessary.
• Sort, count, package, label, unpack, transport, and log inventory movements accurately.
• Inspect shipments for damage or defects, record discrepancies, and notify the supervisor.
• Interface with the purchasing department and enter requisitions as needed.
• Perform regular cycle counts utilizing the MRP System and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Contact carriers to arrange and issue instructions for shipping and delivery.
• Confer and correspond with carriers to rectify issues such as damages or shortages.
• Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies.
• Deliver materials and supplies to requisitioning departments accurately and on time.
• Proactively address the needs of the manufacturing department to meet production and shipping schedules.
• Ensure accurate inventory counts and maintain inventory balance information.

• Proficient understanding of ERP systems and inventory control processes.
• Expertise in material handling and cycle counts.
• Ability to operate electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Leadership skills and cross-functional knowledge.
• Professionalism, dependability, and confidentiality.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with packaging, loading, and unloading trucks.
• Knowledge of materials management and inventory lead practices.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
