Basic Function

This position's primary function is to assemble, wire, and deploy computer systems and cabinets.

Job Responsibilities

1. Reads and interprets schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, SOP, technical deployment guides, work orders, and reports to determine material requirements and assembly instructions.

2. Assemble and attach hardware, such as wires, screws, clip nuts, and mounting brackets, to assemblies.

3. Assembles systems and installs components, units, and wiring, following specifications and using soldering, hand, and power tools.

4. Test and troubleshoot wiring installations, assemblies, and circuits for operational defects, and record results.

5. Basic loading of operating systems and third-party software.

6. Provide initial troubleshooting for common technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.

7. Maintain accurate records based on the scope of work and the process you are assigned.

8. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.

Education, Training, and Experience

High School Diploma or Equivalent with some computer configuration experience.

Knowledge and Skills

-Ability to interpret specifications

-Strong written and verbal communication skills

-Meticulous in following directions, able to keep accurate records for information about the scope of work and SOP procedures.

-Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software installation, operating systems (especially Windows), and network configurations. Along with Word, Excel, Visio, or equivalent)

-Ability to identify and resolve basic technical problems with deployed systems.

-Ability to communicate and work well with people.

-Must be dependable, have a reliable form of transportation, and have a positive attitude.

-Must be able to “set the example” as an organized professional, be good-natured, and have the ability to sell new ideas and cultivate intra- and inter-departmental cooperation.
