Job Summary

We are seeking talented Hair Stylists & Barbers to join our team.
Haircutter in the Meadow is the #1 salon studio in Secaucus NJ, 40 + years in business. Our client demographic are primarily business professionals, family, sports and media personnel from within and around the high-rise business district where we are centrally located.
Our clients primarily live and or work out of Manhattan, Bergen/Hudson County NJ and beyond.

This 2,000 sq. ft. facility consists of a main cutting floor, backbar area and private rooms where we provide full service Hair and Nail procedures. Stylists with specialized skills such as highlighting, ombre, balayage, and other hair coloring techniques, Brazilian Keratin treatment, Japanese Straightening and the likes will capitalize from the weekly bonus pay scale, plus tips of course.

Our location, right on Rt. 3, immediately off the 495 extension to the Lincoln Tunnel, with free 24 hour security monitored parking and a floral garden courtyard atrium storefront, provides tranquility before even entering the salon. We are certainly a safe and comfortable place for service providers who are upgrading their clientele to a new "hair headquarters."
The location is rich in amenities that include eight 4 to 5 star rated hotels, a movie theater, retail, Jiu-jitsu school, GNC, amazing hidden restaurants, buffets and quite a bit more.
The atrium is basically a small park where children play and locals and hotel guests can be seen walking their dogs and having lunch or an outdoor snack.

That's right, at Haircutter in the Meadow we have virtually no boss. We have common sense adult professionals, a salon philosophy and policies that appeal to our team's collective lifestyle and business preferences, 44 years in business.

Haircutter in the Meadow is a superior alternative to the anti-social, humdrum, boring and expensive salon suite where:

• The service provider is at the bottom of the revenue pyramid and contracted only to pay high rent, insurance, supplies and more.
• The suite franchise in the middle, gets a lion share of your profit while hoping to survive the shifting trends of popularity.
• At the top of the pyramid is the property owner whose revenue is guaranteed by contract, even if the franchise goes under.

We protect service providers who just want to make a lucrative living doing what they love to do, from the rat-race described above.
Haircutter in the Meadow has availability from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 7 days per week. That's 70 hours per week in which time we share the duty of client management where the minimum requirement for you, is to be available for anytime that you set for yourself within the cloud-based appointment book, infinitely adjustable via (literally) 15 minute intervals. We recognize that some pros prefer to take on the duty of personal client management to which we say, thank you. We provide the tools for either scenario and everything in between. Our staff members can set up their schedule as little as a few hours per week to 70 hours if they dare.

Most importantly, you will make it your goal to ensure that every customer leaves our salon feeling great about their new cut and happy with the services you provided, translating to and adding to our many 5 star Google reviews.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a cosmetology school is required
• Proven experience as a stylist, hairdresser, or similar role is preferred
• In-depth knowledge of hair cutting techniques and best practices
• Skilled at hair coloring, straightening, and curling techniques is a bonus
• Familiar with a variety of treatment products
• Up-to-date with trends in fashion and beauty
