As the Laboratory Supervisor of the Melchiorre Cancer Center, you will be a key member of the patient care team and collaborate with physicians and other clinical professionals to contribute to safe and effective care. The Lab Supervisor may be the perfect role for you if you have strong leadership skills, knowledge of specialized principles and techniques in Hematology, Chemistry and Urinalysis, and want to make a difference in the lives of our patients. As the Laboratory Supervisor of the Melchiorre Cancer Center, below are your key responsibilities:

• Supervise, coordinate, and participate in routine standardized biological and biochemical tests (chemistry and hematology) that assist physicians in the diagnosis and clinical management of patients
• Oversee day to day operations, including staff scheduling, coverages, monitor TAT and troubleshooting to ensure efficient patient care workflow.
• Hires, trains, onboard and evaluates staff performance
• Collaborates/partners with other hospital /nursing leaders so excellent patient experience can be provided
• Ensures compliance to quality, safety, and regulatory standards
• Assumes responsibility for recognizing results or problems that require referral to Medical Director or Laboratory Director or Manager

The Laboratory Supervisor role might be for you if you:

• Have previous experience in Laboratory leadership at a high-volume healthcare facility
• Have previous experience working in hematology and chemistry
• Excellent customer service
• Outstanding communication skills including verbal and written

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science or equivalent based on CLIA and CAP.

ASCP or AMT certification, preferred.
