Construction Field Superintendent – Industrial / Power Generation

$140,000 to $170,000 + Profit Sharing + Exceptional Benefits

This role is based in Central New Jersey with approximately 30% travel to active construction sites, including periodic multi-week assignments. Seeking a Construction Field Superintendent with deep experience managing heavy industrial and power generation construction projects involving large industrial equipment including heat exchangers, process piping, industrial furnaces, modular gas processing plants, steam surface condensers, steam generators, water treatment skids, rotating equipment, and related process systems.

This position serves as the field leadership point of contact during bidding, engineering, erection, commissioning, startup, and project closeout activities. You will direct subcontractors, coordinate with engineering and project teams, interface with clients, manage field execution, oversee commissioning activities, and drive schedule, safety, quality, and contractual compliance across multiple concurrent projects. Candidates must have strong field leadership presence, commercial awareness, and proven experience handling RFIs, NCRs, back charges, change management, subcontractor disputes, commissioning documentation, and construction reporting within industrial or power environments.

Requirements:
• US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency Required
• 10+ years of field construction management experience within power generation, EPC, OEM, process plant, refinery, petrochemical, LNG, energy storage, or heavy industrial environments
• Prior experience as a Superintendent and/or Field Engineer strongly preferred
• Strong background with structural steel erection, rotating equipment installation, ducting/stacks, pumps, fans, gearboxes, or large industrial mechanical systems
• Experience overseeing erection, commissioning, startup, punch list, and warranty phases
• Strong understanding of ASME, B31.1, AWS, AISC, OSHA, QA/QC, and commissioning standards
• Ability to interpret contracts, engineering drawings, specifications, schedules, and construction documentation
• Experience managing subcontractors, change orders, RFIs, NCRs, back charges, and dispute resolution
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience acceptable

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead field operations for industrial and power generation construction projects
• Manage subcontractors, field crews, commissioning teams, suppliers, and client interfaces
• Oversee commissioning and startup activities for mechanical and process systems
• Review engineering packages, erection drawings, and construction documentation for constructability and compliance
• Prepare RFQs, evaluate construction bids, and support project execution planning
• Monitor safety, quality, schedule, productivity, and contractual milestones across multiple sites
• Maintain detailed site documentation including RFIs, NCRs, reports, schedules, punch lists, and correspondence
• Produce clear field reports, progress updates, risk assessments, and technical documentation
• Support hiring, mentoring, and development of project personnel
• Participate in constructability reviews and client-facing project discussions

Ideal candidates will come from EPC contractors, OEMs, power generation contractors, industrial mechanical contractors, refinery construction firms, LNG construction firms, or heavy industrial construction environments where large-scale mechanical equipment installation and commissioning are core project components.
