The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Job Overview:
Fabricates, adjusts, repairs and cleans the seating and positioning equipment for patients in the inpatient, and long term care programs at Children’s Specialized Hospital. This is done under the direction of clinical staff.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Knowledge and use of basic shop tools
- Valid Drivers License
Preferred:
- Technical or trade school training in the areas of construction, mechanics or carpentry
- Knowledge of wheelchair, power electronics and other adaptive equipment
- Good organizational and inventory skills
- Healthcare background
Scheduling Requirements:
- Day shift, 8:00am-4:30pm (flexible)
- Monday through Friday
- Full-Time, 40 hours per week
Essential Functions:
- Fabricates seating & positioning equipment utilized by the Inpatient and Long Term Care patients under the direction of clinical staff. This includes building custom seating systems and other components as needed.
- Works closely with clinical staff to adjust, maintain, repair and clean equipment utilized in the Inpatient Rehabilitation and Long Term Care program.
- Ability to utilize online parts diagrams to perform repairs and recommend items to maintain in stock for routine repairs.
- Works closely with Environmental Services, EVS team to maintain the cleanliness of the patient equipment.
- Operates equipment in safe professional manner
- Work closely with clinical team to maintain equipment in safe working condition, assist with repairs and adjustments.
- Coordinate equipment inventory with the inpatient rehab tech team and the moving of equipment between multiple sites.
- Responsible for the maintenance and inventory of equipment. This includes safety checks, cleaning and disinfection, inventory management and proper storage.
- Maintain shop in neat, safe working condition.
- Manage the online SDS inventory and ensure that it is up to date.
- Travel to other hospital locations as needed.
