Job Overview:
The Assistant Vice President, Women’s Health Service Line is a key strategic and operational leader responsible for the development, integration, and performance of women’s health services across the health system. The AVP works collaboratively with executive leadership, clinical chairs, medical directors, and operational teams to drive service line growth, enhance patient access and experience, and ensure clinical and financial performance. Reporting to the service line SVP, the AVP supports oversight of OBGYN, maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology, urogynecology, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, breast health, and other related services.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience, including an in-depth knowledge of inpatient operations and provider practice operations as well as personnel management. Experience in strategy and growth is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to navigate in highly complex, matrixed organizations
- Experience in design and implementation of process improvement initiatives and utilization of high reliability principles
Essential Functions:
- Oversee the integration of care delivery across inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory settings.
- Monitor key operational indicators- including patient access, throughput, quality, and outcomes.
- Partner with hospital and practice operations to ensure staffing, workflows, and infrastructure support efficient, patient-centered care.
- Manage annual operating and capital budgets for the service line.
- Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and implement corrective action plans.
- Support revenue cycle optimization, including coding, billing, and payer negotiations specific to women’s health.
- Collaborate with department chairs, division chiefs, and physician leaders to align strategic goals, practice models, and recruitment efforts.
- Facilitate physician engagement, performance improvement initiatives, and compensation alignment.
- Champion initiatives to improve access in women’s health.
- Lead efforts to enhance patient experience.
- Support academic affiliations and integration of research, education, and innovation in the women’s health domain.
- Collaborate with GME and academic partners to grow residency/fellowship programs and pipeline development.
