Principal Engineer (IBM MQ)
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer to join the Middleware Engineering team within the Chief Technology Office (CTO), focused on building the next-generation Enterprise IBM MQ platform.
In this pivotal role, you will lead the design and automation of a standardized, scalable, and resilient MQ infrastructure. You’ll bring deep expertise in modern engineering practices, a strategic mindset, and a strong background in agile development. Your work will involve close collaboration with upstream and downstream systems, product owners, and cross-functional teams to drive the implementation of a robust and future-ready MQ platform
In this role, you will:
Architect, design and engineer self service solutions to provision MQ resources with frictionless experience
Develop best practices for an enterprise scale MQ infrastructure.
Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to the team.
Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
5+ years of IBM MQ
3+ years of infrastructure experience
Desired Qualifications:
6+ years of designing and implementing software solutions for building and maintaining secure, stable, scalable and resilient middleware shared services platforms at scale
5+ years of experience authoring/engineering Ansible playbooks
5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience (Java, Python)
5+ years of experience in data modeling
5+ years of hands-on experience creating deployment manifests (JSON, YAML)
5+ years of experience delivering complex enterprise-wide information technology solutions
5+ years of experience in implementing scalable cloud-based web applications using OCP, Azure or GCP
5+ years of Linux experience

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$159,000.00 - $305,000.00Benefits
