Our client is seeking a full-time Senior Highway Design Engineer to join our team in Freehold, NJ.

THE TYPE OF SENIOR HIGHWAY DESIGN ENGINEER OUR CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
• 12+ years of highway design experience, including intersections and roundabouts
• Strong skills in drainage and stormwater management design
• Experience designing Maintenance and Traffic Protection (MPT)
• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to juggle multiple projects effectively
• A self-motivated, team-oriented attitude

Preferred:

• Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey and/or Pennsylvania
• Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certificate
• Experience with NJDOT, NJ Turnpike Authority, and/or PennDOT
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY AS A SENIOR HIGHWAY DESIGN ENGINEER

Each day, you will:

• Conduct roadway/highway safety inspections and analysis to ensure compliance and safety
• Design various highway components including roadway geometry, access points, drainage, guide rails, signing, striping, Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT), and right-of-way elements
• Prepare engineering documentation such as reports, specifications, cost estimates, and full bid package documents
• Collaborate with teams and subconsultants, ensuring all disciplines align with project goals
• Support construction phases by conducting site visits and responding to client inquiries
• Oversee quality assurance procedures to maintain excellence
• Lead client coordination efforts, including meetings and development opportunities
