Entry Level Scientist or Geologist - Spring 2026
Your impact
At Jacobs, we don’t just lead the development and implementation of environmental characterization and remediation, we live it. As an Environmental Scientist, Engineer or Geologist, you’ll primarily work in the field supporting preliminary assessments, site characterization, and remediation projects.
Based in Morristown, New Jersey, you’ll be involved in field work supporting commercial and federal clients. Local travel up to 60% and up to 30% non-local travel will be required. Working closely with a multi-disciplinary project team, you’ll provide support including collection of environmental samples, site inspections, data management, waste management, and routine groundwater well pumping/treatment operations, monitoring and maintenance system support. Additionally, as part of field teams, you’ll have the ability to characterize soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, treated discharge, collect air samples and perform routine sampling and testing in either a lead or support role. You’ll also oversee specialty subcontractors performing maintenance, investigation, drilling, survey and remediation work.
You’ll contribute to the development of NYSDEC-type, NJDEP-type, USEPA-type and other regulatory reporting technical documents (field logs, health and safety documentation, work plans, and environmental investigation, monitoring and remediation reports, etc.). We’ll rely on you to complete tasks within schedule and budget with a variety of teams from different disciplines and backgrounds and communicate the status of tasks to project managers. If something is unclear, we know you’ll ask questions to clarify the scope. Safety will be your priority, as you lead and support safety “incident free” operations in the office and in the field.
Bring your collaborative spirit, organization, and desire to do great work for internal and external clients, and we’ll help grow what drives you – to deliver the best environmental solutions, together.
