Academy Athletic Trainer (Part-Time)
Red Bull New York are one of 30 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS). RBNY, one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, have competed in the league since its founding in 1996. Red Bull New York play home matches at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, New Jersey. The three-time MLS Supporters' Shield Winners and two-time Conference Champions are owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull, for which the team is named. Red Bull New York offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams.
POSITION SUMMARY
The New York Red Bulls Academy Medical and Performance department is a high performing multi-disciplinary group of practitioners, who strive for the highest level of practice possible every day. This part time role will join in our pursuit of excellence in the areas of rehab, reconditioning and return to play.
RESPONSIBILITIESAreas that play to your strengths
All the responsibilities we'll trust you with:
Provide on field medical coverage during academy training sessions and matches as assigned.
Assist with the assessment of new injuries on the field of play and in the treatment room.
Initiate communication chain of initial findings to athletic trainers and physical therapists, and when appropriate communicate findings to coaching staff, fitness staff, and team physician.
Assist in the creation and execution of short, medium and long term rehabilitation plans for players as assigned.
Assist in the development and delivery of individualized injury reduction measures within the academy setting.
EXPERIENCE
Your areas of knowledge and expertise
that matter most for this role:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Athletic Training
- NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer
- Strong communications skills
- Experience with evaluation and treatment of lower extremity injury
- Flexible schedule for both weekday and weekend coverage
- The ability to regularly lift up to 75lbs, in addition to being physically capable of performing general athletic training duties
- Travel 10-20%
- Temporary
