The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Serve meals to patients in a professional/efficient manner; explain patients the room service meal ordering process, provide menu based on diet prescription; evaluate patient s capability to utilize room service system, communicate the same with nurse/dietitian to determine when unable to participate or will need assistance in participation, assist patients with meal order, check that all patients have ordered and received meals, communicate if patient refusing meals; pick up trays post meal and bring trucks back to kitchen; deliver nourishments,& check nourishment refrigerators; act as a liaison between patients and Food & Nutrition department.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Fluent in English speaking and writing

Preferred:

• Hospital experience a plus
• Two year associate degree preferred

Scheduling Requirements

• Per Diem Evening
• 3:30pm-7:30pm or 11am-7pm or 7am-3pm
• Weekends & Holidays

Essential Functions:

• Collects the final tray list for assigned patient units from Communication center clerk fir each meal
• Checks meal delivery trucks for supplies/condiments
• Serves meals to patients in a professional, efficient manner and check patient s wristband for identification
• Visits new admissions or changed diets and explains room service meal process and give menu to match the diet order
• Visit diabetic patients and assures meals ordered and delivered as per medication policy
• Assesses patient s ability to utilize room service and follow up with nurse/dietitian if unable to participate
• Assists patient s in ordering meals when requested, offers pre select meal sheets/choice to patient/family and collect the same for communication center to process meal
• Collect dirty tray from patient s room into the truck and bring truck to dish room after each meal time
• Process diet requisition retrieved from nursing stations
• Delivers between meal nourishments to patients
• Mediates patients concerns regarding meal service
